Quite simply the best pies (you can't go past the Steak & Ale) in Edinburgh, if not the UK. Whenever I have friends and family visiting, I ALWAYS take them here - it is an Edinburgh tradition.
I first met the delicious pies from the Pie Maker while in a Edinburgh for the fringe Fest. With all of the fine cuisine here in New York City, I have yet to find a pie as good as these. Saucy savory
centers with yummy flakey crusts. The price is unbeatable, the quality second to none and the hospitality beyond compare. Pie Maker, please come to America. WE NEED YOU!
Best pies ever. Especially love the Haggis. Salivating just thinking about them.
I have been missing Pie Maker pies, and especially Pizza Rolls, since left Edinburgh in 2002. It's good to see they are still on the menu, can't wait to try them again when I come back next year.
The pies here are simply delicious. And very cheap. Whether you go in to enjoy a quick snack or to stuff yourself, either way, you can't go wrong. As an American, who has only visited Edinburgh twice
- and what a nice town it is - I wish we had an exact duplicate of the Piemaker here, in New England. I would spend a lot of time there.
a lot better than the crap that greggs sell and not burnt either, and a lot cheaper there scotch pies are the best in edinburgh
I stayed in Edinburgh for a month and went to the Pie Maker almost everyday. FRESH delicious pies and a price that cant be beat!!
I wish they would open up a pie Maker shop here in NYC - Lamb Liver and Bacon was my favorite. yummmmmm. I will miss ou terribly you delicious wholesome pies ;(

empty stomach
Best tasting and looking Scotch Pies ever eaten and excellent value for money. Bridies also in that category. Haggis pies delicious. Any Scot or anyone else that wants to taste this traditional food
on a new and higher level should visit this place
"The Pie Maker is a versatile establishment, changing from a great place to grab a quick and tasty lunch to one of the few places to stumble into after a night out and eat whatever you can afford with the spare change you haven’t drunk… A great feature are the bar stools at the window facing west, overlooking Southbridge, as sitting here seems to capture any hint of sunshine that breaks through the everlasting winter clouds of Edinburgh. While the products on offer are not the most subtle or sophisticated fare on offer on Southbridge, they are cheap, and are no Greggs!"
